This is a game that is hosted from my home, and is running on a Raspberry Pi. So if it is slow let me know and I can look at upgrading it to something that has more resources.
1: To Setup this game we are going to need to first install Java. Java works on Windows, Mac, and Linux systems.
Windows:
2: After we have it installed we are now going to want to download the client for JSettlers.
3: Now we need to start the client, that we just downloaded.
Start the command prompt if windows, or the terminal if on Mac or Linux. Move to the directory where the client is installed. This is most likely going to be your download folder. Run this command.
cd Downloads
Now you need to start the client, by running this command.
java -jar JSettlers.jar
4: You are now running the game! You should see the popup on your computer. We now need to connect to the Server, so select that option. For the options put in these settings.
Server: schmidclan.com
Port: 30101
Nickname: "This can be anything that you want it to be"
Password: "Leave this blank"
5: Join chat Channel. The first thing to do is to get into a chat channel. This allows you to chat with other players in the channel, while you are playing the game.
5a: New Game - You will need to create a new Channel if you are starting a new game. Type a name into the box called "New Channel" and click Join Channel.
5b: Join already started Game - Select the Channel that you want to join and select Join Channel.
6: Start Game. Now that you are in a chat channel, you need to either start a new game or join a game that has already been started.
6a: New Game - You will need to create a New Game if you are starting a new game. Select "New Game". Enter the New Game name and select the options that you want. The most important is how many players. You can have up to 6 players at once. Then select Create Game. The select a spot to sit.
6b: Join already started Game - Select the Game that you want to join and select Join Game. Then select a spot to sit.
